1.	The little girl in the lower right is me. My father, Elder Harold W. Jewkes, is holding my sister Marilyn. My mother, Glenna Haynes Jewkes is standing next to my sister. My Dad was the MV/Education superintendent for the Idaho Conference. We moved to Boise in July 1943. Later, my Dad accepted a call to Texas to be Education Superintendent. We left Boise on February 5,1946. In my Dad’s memoirs, he mentions that in November 1943, he was at GSA and Kenneth Groves was the principal. He also mentions that there was a farewell for George Belleau on July 17, 1945. My sister looks about 4 yrs. old and I would be 6. The picture was apparently taken during a cool part of the year since so many people are wearing coats. My guess is that the picture was probably taken in the fall of 1944 or early in 1945. It was taken on the steps of the Gem State Academy administration building.

This photo brought back memories of Gem State. My dad was business manager in the office to the right of the entrance from 1948-1959, and since many of the people in the photo have been identified as of an earlier time, I didn't recognize anyone. The little roof "wings" on each side of the photo went down to the cafeteria.

Frank--if you're reading this, I have wonderful memories of your parents and also Bob and Jane.

Left and middle of the next to the back row are my parents, Pastor John D. and Thelma Trude. The picture would have been taken around 1940 in ID, where my parents went for my dad's first call (fresh out of AUC) as a singing evangelist for the ID conference. My father pastored in the OR conference from 1950 until the mid-70's. He passed away in 1985. My mother is still alive (at 91), but her eyesight is so poor that she was not able to id any of the other folks. She was looking for George Bellows in the photo, so I'll have to point him out for her. He was a great support to my parents. Thanks for the picture!

Further note: Herbert Cooke Beach is the father of Walter Raymond Beach, a G. C. vice president, and grandfather of Bert B. Beach, still living and former Religious Liberty vice president of the G.C.

Location: Gem State Academy front steps probably around 1939 or 1940. Front row L to R: Herbert Cooke Beach (my grandfather-in-law); ??Waters (colporter leader); George Bellows (conf. president & presided at my wedding); V. G. Anderson (NPUC president); ??McCready (Gem State Academy principal). Second frow third from the left: Lorena Mae Smith. Back row: ??J. Randall Sloop; Nel (Mrs. J. R.) Easter. The names with ?? in front I would not be willing to stake my life on the identify, but I am quite sure I am correct. The names with no ?? I am positive of the identification. Signed, Frank T. Munsey, retired pastor & son of C. M. Munsey of Caldwell, Idaho. Please let me know if others identify people in the photo.

I am wondering if the middle picture in the front row is V. G. Anderson. He was my union president in the south many years ago. and I had heard that he had formerly been president of the North Pacific Union. Could it be the Union Office Personnel in front of their then office building?
