I thought you made some very practical observations.  Especially good was the analogy of draping our spouse with our expectations.  Once-in-awhile I get lucky when buying an article of clothing for Faye, but most of the time I strike out.  How about you?  However, at least when I do get brave enough to buy an article of clothing for her, it is to please her.  It seems to me that when we put the symbolic garment of our own expectations on our spouse, it is primarily to please ourselves...a recipe for disaster for sure.  Thanks for the reminder!</description>
